Death and Life Rest In. . . (Part 2)

That right!  Words are so very important, more so than some people realized.  Words really do control the things that happen to us.  Truly, many people have died because they have said the wrong things.  God has set before us life and death, blessing and cursing and has told us to choose life, but few know how to make this choice.  We make the choice through the words that we speak, for death and life rest in the power of the tongue.  Yes, the words that we speak control a system that has been created to only respond when something is spoken.  And the beauty of all of this is that we have been given the power to control and the authority to command this very system.  Like the seeds of the farmer who sows them in the ground and reaps a harvest; we sow the words that we speak and reap ourselves a harvest, which brings about blessings or curses.  For what we sow, is what we will reap and when we reap, we reap in its full measure.

There are just a few more things we want to share with everyone; a few more things for us to bring everyone in remembrance of; and a few more things for us to tell everyone about.  Remember in the twelfth chapter of the gospel according to Matthew, we found that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh (Matthew 12:34).  With that being said, we have a few questions we would like to pose for you to consider.  What will we find in your heart?  Will we find it full of the things of the world?  Or will we find it full of the things of God, like his word?  What will come out of your heart when you are in distress?  What will your mouth speak in your time of need?
Your mouth is the master key to your life.  If we learn how to skillfully use our mouths and our words, we can literally take authority over our lives, instead of hoping and praying that something will happen or manifest.  How you use your mouth will determine the way you live; what you allow to get out of your mouth will determine what is going to get into your life.  We daily need to make it our serious business to discipline ourselves in the way we use our mouths.  When we do, things are going to change.  Satan hates the fact that we are having this revelation about our mouths being the master key, because it shuts him down and opens up to us the realm of the things of God.  If you speak the things of God more often than you speak the things of the devil, it will close down his business (Dr. Creflo Dollar).

Your mouth is the master key to your life.  Your mouth gives you authority in three areas; on earth, in heaven, and in hell.  With your mouth, you can command the forces of heaven, change the situations of earth, and bind the forces of hell.  Most people do not realize the power of their words, believing that words are unimportant.  They do not know to speak in authority and therefore are unable to correctly use the power that has been given to them.  Everything in this life hinges on the words that are spoken, which can be positive or negative.

Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.  Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.  Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things.  Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!  And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.  For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:  But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.  Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.  Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing.  My brethren, these things ought not so to be.  Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?  Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries?  either a vine, figs?  so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh (James 3:3-12).

Man controls a horse by a tiny thing he places in its mouth called a bit.  Man controls that mightiest of ships with a tiny blade called a rudder.  And so it is with man, he is controlled by a tiny member, his tongue.  With this tiny thing, man can defile his entire body.  With the tongue, man will bless God and with the same tongue, curse men.  With the tongue, goes forth blessings and with the same tongue goes forth curses.  With the tongue, the words you speak give you authority on earth, in heaven, and in hell.  Your mouth is the master key to your life.  Everything in this life hinges on the spoken words, which can be positive or negative.

A system that works based on what a person says.  Now how impressive is that thought?  But ponder this, if it be possible for you to be saved by a confession of your mouth, not to forgo the believing in the heart part (Romans 10:9-10), then do you not think it would be possible for you to be condemned by a confession of your mouth as well, provided the belief in the heart is there?  And if that be the case, then death and life are truly in the power of a person’s tongue.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned (Matthew 12:37).

With your words, you can be justified with life and blessings.  Or with your words, you can be condemned with death and cursing.  And if by your words you be justified, then you be just.  And if you be just, then you shall live by faith, for as it is written, The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17).

You have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth (Prov. 6:2 NIV).

Accordingly, you have been trapped by what has been said, ensnared by the very words of your mouth.  Trapped by what you say and you still think what you say is not important?  Ensnared by the words the come out of your mouth, yet you find it hard to accept that such a system could exists.  Could it be that you find it most inconceivable that you have been given the power to control and the authority to command such a system instead?  Death and life are truly in the power of the tongue.  You need to realize the power of your words, because the words you speak are very important.  You have to learn to speak in authority and to use the power that has been given to you.  By your words, those that you speak, you choose between that which God has set before you; death or life.

Please note there is nothing that says death and life are in the power of the mind or the power of the heart.  Some believe since God knows what is in their heart, or God knows their heart, or even God knows what they need, that he will take care of them.  It is true, that the Scriptures say God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19), but he will only supply them (your need) in accordance with the principles set forth in his word.  Just because God knows what is in your heart or knows what you need, does not mean you will receive your heart’s desire or get any of your need met.

The system was not designed to work that way.  The system requires you to speak then to believe before it will produce any results (speak it, believe it, get it).  This is a spiritual principle.  When utilizing these tools (faith and confession), the system will respond and things can get accomplished.  You may have a thought but unless that thought is expressed according to the set forth principle, God will not act upon your thought.  The scripture does not say think it, believe it, get it.  It clearly tells us to speak, then believe, and then receive.

Before the heavens and the earth were created, God had to have the floor plan, the working model already in his mind.  He had the thought as to what his creation would look like; how it would work; and all the needed ingredients.  Even though God is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent; creation was not completed by a mere thought.  God did not think his creation into existence; he spoke it into existence.

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth (Psalm 33:6).

Through faith we understand that the worlds (ages) were framed (prepared) by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (are visible) (Hebrews 11:3).

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water (II Peter 3:5).

God’s spoken word obviously has power.  The scriptures say, And God said, Let there be and it was so.  All of creation was done or created in like fashion.  It seems that whole system has been ordered not to do anything until something is said, an announcement is made, or some type of command is given.  Do you still need evidence that there be a system that hinges on what you say, be it saying something good or be it saying something bad?  (to be continued).

Enjoy your blessings - KW
