The chances are pretty good that the foundation of your belief system has been adversely affected because it was more than likely built on the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions of others. And if the foundation of your belief system has been built on the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions of others, then is it possible that all of that knowledge that you have gained over the years from others to have misled you? And if the foundation of your belief system were based on the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions that you received as a child, then is it possible that all of that knowledge that you have gained over the years to have misguided you?
And if the foundation of your belief system has been built on false premises, then could the conclusions that you draw be false as well. From the time that you have been able to understand, others have presented thoughts, ideas, and suggestions to you and those thoughts, ideas, and suggestions have been instilled in your mind as absolute truths. And you have followed these absolute truths your entire life, without question. And the really sad part is that those who offered you the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions, merely passed on what was passed on to them because they were taught the exact same thing in the exact same manner.
But we have found out something since then, since we were first taught, something that was and still is very important. For us, we found out something since then that has changed our lives. Believe it or not, we found out the things we had learned were not all that we were taught they were supposed to be. We found out the knowledge we were given then was not all that we were led to believe it was supposed to be.
We found out that those who offered us the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions had only passed on those things that they had been taught. And we found out that they did this all in the same manner in which they themselves were taught. We even found out that our belief system, the one that we built based on those absolute truths, was actually built on false premises. We found out that because our belief system was built on false premises, then all of our conclusions, as well, had to be false.
We found out that having knowledge does not convey wisdom or understanding. We found out that there are a great many people who have knowledge of the Bible but they lack the wisdom that comes from the understanding of the knowledge that they have. We even found out that Satan has knowledge of the Bible but he lacks the wisdom that comes from the understanding of the knowledge that he possesses. We found out that knowledge without wisdom and understanding is not knowledge at all; it is more of a hindrance, because it gave us a false sense of knowing, when in fact we really do not.
We found out that with this false sense of knowledge, we would reject any and all knowledge that was different, all because we believed that we already had that knowledge, not realizing that there was something missing. So now we know that we did not possess the wisdom needed to bring forth understanding. And we know that we were not the only ones, because we discovered that there are a great number of people who have knowledge but they too, do not possess the wisdom needed to bring forth understanding. And we discovered that these same people usually can recite scriptures, verbatim and on cue, but they do not possess the wisdom needed to bring forth the understanding of what they have just recited.
So now, we know that knowledge is nothing more than information, a general awareness of specific information, or the possession of facts, ideas, or principles. And we know that wisdom is nothing more than “know how,” the ability to use good sense in your thinking, in your judgments, and in your actions. And we know that understanding is all about perception, the ability to perceive and explain the meaning or the nature of something. So, we are now able to conclude that just because someone possesses knowledge, it does not automatically give birth to wisdom and rise to understanding.
But we can see so clearly now. We can see how this belief in traditionalism was wrong on so many levels. We can see how this belief in traditionalism had imprisoned us, keeping us from the truth. We can see the flaws in the traditions that we had placed so much belief in.
We can see how the knowledge of and the knowledge about can be passed down from generation to generation, but there will always be something missing. We can see how there will always be something that cannot be passed down through the generations. We can see how this something could never be recovered, forever lost especially if all we have is traditionalism to rely upon.
We can see that wisdom cannot be passed down from generation to generation. We can see that understanding cannot be passed down from generation to generation. And if wisdom cannot be passed down from generation to generation and if understanding cannot be passed down from generation to generation, then there is no way that revelation knowledge can be passed down from generation to generation. Maybe you see a little clearly now. Maybe you see as we see. Maybe you see yourself a little differently now. Maybe now you see yourself as a “divergent thinker” and not a “convergent thinker.” Thinking, who would have thought?
Enjoy all of your blessings and remember to be a blessing to others. - KW
