We have spoken several times about “an untruth, a deception, a lie” that has been going on for so long that the lines between them and “the truth” have become so blurred that one crosses between the two without the realization of either. Without the knowledge as to the source of the problem, the deception continues. We know that man continues to be played like puppets in a production for an audience of principalities, powers, and rulers of the darkness of this world, while the puppet master continues to lurk in the shadows, hidden from the world. Because the devil is “the father of lies” (John 8:44), he has blinded many to “the truth” to the point that they believe just about anything that sounds “god-like.” Throughout the scriptures, we are “warned not to be deceived, not to err, not to be misled, and even not to go astray” for there will come “false prophets” that will deceive many.
“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:11). “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction” (II Peter 2:1). “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:15).
Scripture warns us about the false prophets and the like that will come. Scriptures also warns us that the strength of “the deception” is such that many shall be lead or carried away, which includes many believers, as well as the non-believers. We are warned to be on the lookout for “the wolves in sheep’s clothing that appear to be prophets,” for they are not kind. But like sheep lead to slaughter, many have and continue to follow these false prophets, the false teachers, and the one called Satan, who has deceived many with his counterfeit message.
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” (II Corinthians 11:13-15). “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation 12:9).
God warns us that Satan can transform himself into a counterfeit of the real deal. Satan himself can masquerade around as “an angel of light.” Scripture also tells us that his ministers can be transformed into “ministers of righteousness.” Many are aware that the devil and his entourage has infiltrated the Church, but has any thought been given to other areas they may have influenced. It should not be out of the question to consider the devil’s role in the translation of the very Bible that we use. And no, we have not lost our minds nor are we speaking against what some consider to be “the very word of God.” What better opportunity could he possibly have to deceive the masses then to alter the very thing so many of us use or claim to follow. The devil’s craftiness and deceitful nature is first depicted during “the fall of mankind” (Genesis 3:1-13). Then, he was able to alter what God had said in “the mind of Eve” (II Corinthians 11:3). So, what makes you think he cannot do the same today? We all have been taught that the devil knows the Bible, so not to consider this possibility may prove to be detrimental.
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
In today’s society, truth is limited, open to or having more than one possible meaning or interpretation, especially when deliberately expressed in an ambiguous, unclear, and/or deceitful way. Limited truth causes uncertainty or confusion and is often used in an attempt to mislead somebody. Limited truth is difficult to interpret, respond to, and understand. Limited truth comes from a lack of knowledge, a lack of understanding, and a lack of revelation about the things of God. The devil's greatest weapon is man's ignorance when it come to the word of God. The deception is real but it can be overcome and you can be set free by “the truth.” By definition, “the truth is absolute.” The truth corresponds to fact and reality and is generally believed to be unconditional. The truth is unequivocally complete, not capable of being viewed as partial or relative. The truth is not dependent by or qualified by anything else. The truth comes directly from God who grants knowledge, understanding, and revelation. While the truth will make you free, it is your knowledge and acceptance of the truth that makes you free, not the truth itself. The truth can do nothing on its own; you have to hear it, receive it, accept it, and then apply it, if you want to be totally free and no longer deceived. Truth is truth even if no one believes it and a lie is a lie even if everyone believes it. No matter what, seek the truth, for the truth is the only thing that will set you free from “the deception.”
